Frequently Asked Questions
If something isn’t covered, you’re always welcome to reach out.
What age is MailBox Story for?
MailBox Story is designed primarily for readers ages 9–15. That said, many younger readers enjoy it when reading with a parent, and older teens and adults often enjoy the story as well.
Is this religious or faith-based?
The story is written from a biblical point of view, with clear moral grounding and a respect for faith, family, and responsibility. It is not written as a sermon or devotional—our goal is a good story first.
Is the story appropriate to read alone?
Yes. The content is written to be thoughtful and engaging without relying on shock, crude humor, or modern slang. Many families choose to read together, but that choice is yours.
Are the illustrations hand-drawn?
The illustrations are created using a combination of modern digital tools and careful artistic direction. Each image is thoughtfully developed to support the story’s tone, setting, and themes. Our focus is on telling a good story first—one that feels consistent, immersive, and appropriate for young readers. The illustrations serve the story, rather than drawing attention to the tools used to create them.
How long is each chapter?
Each chapter is long enough to feel satisfying, but short enough to be read in a single sitting. Chapter length varies slightly as the story unfolds.
What exactly do we receive each month?
Each mailing includes a printed chapter of Flee to the Mountain, formatted as a folded booklet, along with a full-color character collector card.
What is the format of the chapters?
Chapters are printed as 5.5″ × 8.5″ folded booklets on cream paper, saddle-stitched with two staples. They are designed to be durable, readable, and easy to save.
Do the chapters build on each other?
Yes. This is a serialized story meant to be read in order. Each chapter continues the narrative from the last.
How does the subscription work?
You choose either a monthly or yearly payment option. A new chapter is mailed every two weeks while your subscription is active.
What if MailBox Story isn’t a good fit for our family?
You’ll have until the second chapter ships to decide. That gives you time to see the format, pacing, and presentation. If it’s not right for your household, simply cancel before the next mailing and nothing further will be sent.
After the story is underway, you can still stop future mailings at any time, but past chapters aren’t refundable since they’ve already been prepared and mailed.
Can I switch from monthly to yearly?
Yes — you can switch to yearly billing at any time. We’ll apply what you’ve already paid toward the yearly plan so nothing is lost. Just contact us before your next billing date and we’ll update it.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes — before the second chapter ships.
Once the story has begun, you may stop future shipments whenever you wish, but previously mailed chapters aren’t refundable.
